Terzic: 'We were scared'

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic looks unhappy with the development of the match against USA

Verona, Italy, October 4, 2014 – Serbia coach Zoran Terzic admitted they were scared during the straight sets defeat to USA at PalaOlimpia on Saturday.

USA coach Karch Kiraly: “It was a great match, you know Serbia is a great team, number 9 in the world. It is very exciting to win against such a great team.”

USA captain Alisha Glass: “I'm very proud of this team, we played many matches and came back to Verona for showing tonight that we are a very good team. They pushed us and we did our best.”

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic: “We entered the game with a lot of motivation and energy and I don't know how to say - we got scared. My players weren't relaxed and we made a few mistakes, even technical ones. We gave too many free balls to USA and, you know, when you play like this you cannot expect to win.”

Serbia captain Maja Ognjenovic: “I'm sorry for the bad result. USA is a great team and we really wanted to win, but we played more with heart than head and this made us lose our concentration. We will do our best for tomorrow's match against Russia. Russia is a strong team, you know, and we have nothing to lose.”
