Trieste

Trieste is the capital of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The city is situated in Italy’s north-eastern corner, near the border with Slovenia, in the northernmost part of the upper Adriatic, and facing on the gulf of the same name.

Trieste , the center of the historical and geographical region of Venezia Giulia, acts as a bridge between Western and South-Central Europe, combining the Mediterranean and Central European characters. It is a major point for rail and maritime transportation. Today it is an important hub for international trade flows between the land-sea markets in Central and Eastern Europe and Asia.

Opened in November 1999, PalaTrieste has a 5.772 m ² total surface. It consists of 5.172 seating places, plus 1.800 on telescopic stands which – in case of need – can be temporally removed in order to enlarge the court.

In addition to the main court, there’s a large gym and four smaller ones, particularly suitable for basics activities. These features together, along with ample parking areas nearby, make PalaTrieste one of the buildings who are in the forefront, not only in the Friuli Venezia Giulia, but in the whole country.
