Our concentration was good and at the end we made it – Ludwig

“We started vey focused and worked perfectly in some aspects”, said Canada coach Arnd Ludwig.

Trieste, Italy, September 23, 2014 – Even though Canada lost focus in the third set, coach Arnd Ludwig was happy with his overall team performance when Canada overcame Cameroon 3-1 (25-12, 25-15, 20-25, 25-14) in Tuesday’s opening Pool B match of the 2014 FIVB Women’s World Championship at PalaTrieste.

Canada coach Arnd Ludwig: We started vey focused and worked perfectly in some aspects. In the third set we lost concentration because my team thought the match was already over and stopped fighting. Cameroon fought as hard as they could and reacted with good serve.

Canada captain Brittney Page: We have good players and we played well. Of course we can improve for the next matches.

Cameroon coach Jean Rene Akono: We had problems with digging and passing. Our supporters helped us a lot. This is very important for us as my players are inspired by their support and this give us more courage.

Cameroon captain Eba’A Mballa Esther Canelle: I’m quite satisfied of what we achieved but of course we can improve. It’s the first time we play in such a big event, so it’s normal our girls were nervous. We experienced problems in reception and defense what I didn’t like.
