World Championship lands in schools, training course for teachers begins

 


Milan, Italy, September 1, 2014 - School teachers in Lombardia learn about volleyball: from September 2 to September  4,  “Centro Fipav Pavesi“ of Milan hosts a training course for teachers entirely dedicated to volleyball, towards the FIVB Women’s World Championships Italy 2014,  with the final phase will take place in Milan from 8th to 12th October.
The initiative, organized by the Local Organizing Committee of Milan in collaboration with the Regional School Office of Lombardy Region, had an immediate success among teachers throughout the region: there are 74 teachers in secondary schools  who have applied enrollment, from all the provinces of Lombardy.
The course will be developed entirely on the mornings of September 2, 3 and 4 and will include both theoretical (every day from 9 to 11) and practice session at gyms Center Pavesi (from 11 to 13). Head of the lessons will be Irene Ranalletti, lecturer and assistant coach of the national Fipav selection of men's Lombardy region. The aim of the lectures is to convey to teachers the basic rules of volleyball and facilitate teaching students of all ages during physical education lessons. At the end of the course, all teachers registered will receive a certificate of participation; at the discretion of the institution to which they belong, the course will also be held valid as professional development.
The training course for teachers is part of a series of initiatives reserved by the Organizing Committee to the school sector: these include the organization of a special matinee of the show "The Legend of volleyball flying" with Andrea Zorzi, dedicated to students and scheduled on  Saturday, September 27th at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan, and some special offers for the purchase of tickets to watch the matches, details of which will be announced later.
The FIVB Women's World Championships Italy 2014 will be held from September 23 to October 12 in six Italian cities; Wednesday 8 to Sunday, October 12 the Mediolanum Forum of Assago will host the final round that will involve the best 6 teams in the world. Tickets to attend the matches are on sale on www.ticketone.it, points of sale Ticketone, or directly at the premises of the LOC Milan and Provincial Committees of Fipav of Milan, Monza and Brianza and Varese.
