Italian coach Marco Bonitta: We had a difficult starting because we were really tensed. Nevertheless, we did claim a victory.
Italy captain Francesca Piccinini: I'm very happy about this victory because it was a difficult match. We did manage to understand Japanese's strategy claiming a great performance.
Japan coach Manabe Masayoshi: First of all, I would like to congratulate Italy for this victory. Today they have been very strong and absolutely great in service and attack.
Japan captain Kimura Saori: We knew that we had to win this match to move to the third round. We had a good starting but then we dropped. It was really hard against Italy tonight.
