Italy jersey and official World Championship ball given to the Pope

 

An Italian jersey and an official ball are given to the Pope

Rome, Italy, September 24, 2014 - This morning, a delegation from the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championships Italy 2014 met Pope Francis at the end of the weekly papal audience held on St. Peter’s Square.

The delegation included Carlo Salvatori (Chairman of the Organising Committee), André Meyer (CEV President and President of the Control Committee currently supervising the organisation of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship), Marcelo Wangler (World Championship Event Director), Alberto Rabiti (General Secretary of the Italian Volleyball Federation), Renato Arena (Executive Director of the tournament) and Andrea Scozzese (LOC Roma President). After attending the audience, a jersey of the Italian national team and the official ball of the FIVB Women’s World Championship were given to the Pope.
