Cameroon played well but lost, we played bad but won - Kuzyutkin

Trieste, Italy, September 27, 2014 – Bulgaria booked three points in Saturday’s opening match of Pool B at the 2014 FIVB Women’s World Championship in Trieste, winning 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-23) versus an amazingly improved Cameroon.

Bulgaria coach Vladimir Kuzyutkin: We all try to win our games 3-0 and sometimes it is hard when you feel the pressure to win. It was an interesting game today. Cameroon played well but lost, we played bad but won. This is sport. We had to go out and win.

Bulgaria captain Strashimira Filipova: Today it was important to win 3-0. It was a nice match; we enjoyed to fight against Cameroon.

Cameroon coach Jean Rene Akono: I congratulate Bulgaria for their win. We are improving. We played well and of course, we can do better. However, some players still can improve. Against Turkey tomorrow, we will do our best to win at least one set.

Cameroon captain Eba’A Mballa Esther Canelle: We kept a positive attitude in today’s game. We wanted to win; we wanted to bring our culture into the competition. We tried our best and we thank all the people who supported us.
