Verona, Italy, October 5, 2014 – Brazil coach Jose Roberto Lages Guimaraes said he was worried for the players when deciding the team’s line-up ahead of the meeting with USA on Sunday.

Brazil coach Jose Roberto Lages Guimaraes: “I lined up the second team because I was worried for my girls, because they have been playing a lot of matches without rest. I hoped to win, even if it wasn't so important, as we were already qualified.”

Brazil top scorer Tandara Caixeta: “Every match is important. I'm very satisfied because USA is one of the strongest teams in the world. I'm proud of my teammates, we know that we can always count on each other. Now we've to stay focused on the next phase.”

USA coach Karch Kiraly: “We use lots of players every time, when we know that we're moving on and when we don't know that we're moving on. All through this tournament we tried to use many players because we have confidence in all of them, and we know that if we use all of fourteen players early, we'll all be a little bit stronger, more experienced and more rested in the end.”

USA top scorer Nicole Fawcett: “Even though we were already qualified, we didn't play with a different attitude. I think we always had a great competition against Brazil, both teams played well, it was a big battle for us, unfortunately they managed to beat us. I think we are gonna learn from this.”
