Pool A coaches honored to play in Rome

 

The Mikasa balls were silent on the eve of the World Championship opener, but the coaches were not in the press conference

Rome, Italy, September 22, 2014 – The six head coaches for teams competing in Pool A of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2014 voiced their thoughts on the eve of their matches starting in Rome.

Each coach feels honored that their teams have advanced to the first round of the 24-team event, but also understands that quality results are a must to move on to the second round.

GUILLERMO ORDUNA (ARGENTINA) - “This city and this round are very important for Argentina. To us is a very heart-felt World Championship and we want to congratulate to whom, like us, is involved in the competition.”

ANGELO VERCESI (CROATIA) - “This World Championship is for us a good occasion to give a new essence to our country’s volleyball. We will think step by step, I don’t know where we will arrive, but I hope to stay in the game as longer as possible.”

MARCOS KWIEK (DOMINICAN REPUBLIC) - “First of all, I want to say good luck to everyone. Our group is a balanced one and we’ll do our best to feel like we always play a final match. We will fight day to day.”

GIOVANNI GUIDETTI (GERMANY) - “We arrive to the World Championship in a good physical condition. Our team is a very strong one and this status is not easy to reach. The start of this adventure is very positive, and the organization is excellent at the moment.”

MOHAMED MESSELMANI (TUNISIA) - “Being here is an honor for Tunisia. We haven’t taken part to the World Championship since 1986 and now we are here with this great teams to fight for a very important objective, it’s a great chance and I hope we can achieve good results.”

MARCO BONITTA (ITALY) - “We worked so hard to reach the top of our physical condition, we want to arrive at the end of the competition. I want to wish good luck to all the teams enjoying this FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship edition.”
