At the beginning of 2010 Laura Dijkema made her debut in the national team in the match against Japan at the Montreux Volley Masters in June of that year. So far, (07.04.2014), Dijkema has played 150 international matches for her country, including the World Championships of 2010. Dijkema also played in the European Championship of 2011 and the European League of 2012, where the Netherlands reached the Final Four.
Dijkema currently plays with Halkbank in Ankara, Turkey. She started her volleyball career at Dutch club Smash in Beilen in 1997.
