22 year old Anne Buijs made her debut for the national team of the Netherlands during a match against Australia at the international Abu Dhabi Tournament in May 2008. So far (07.04.2014) Buijs has been capped 56 times . A small number compared to the other Dutch internationals, mainly caused by injuries. Last year, Buijs was not part of the selection due to an injury. The World Grand Prix edition of 2009 is on her list, the caps were won during well known international tournaments, such as the Montreux Volley Masters and the Boris Yeltsin Cup.

Currently Buijs plays with Busto Arsizio in Italy. She started playing volleyball at Polisport in the Netherlands in 1997.
